Ceremony Offering

Barra followed Banwen silently to the sacred mountain. It was false dawn; they had to hurry. They had found two other caves from which to obtain gifts, and now they were ready. Banwen had told him what to do on the way, but he still didn't know what to expect. Silently they landed on the sacred place. The silence on top of the mountain at the roof of the world was deafening. Immediately Barra could feel the energy from the mountain seeping up through his hooves, making him shiver. They shouldn't be here. Every instinct in his mind was telling him to get off this ground. Every step was a burden, as if the snow,ice, and earth beneath were trying to attach to him to it. Fear grew in his chest; if he stayed here to long, would he become part of the land? He stomped his hooves uncomfortably while Banwen took the sack that had the gifts from him. Carefully they placed the gemstones on the ground, Banwen positioning them in two perfect circles. Once circle held moonstone, rose quartz, fluorite, clear quartz, carnelian, and ziosite. The second circle held black moonstone, smoky quartz, black fluorite, clear quartz, black opal, and bloodstone. Just before the sun shone over the mountains, they started the ceremony. As one Banwen and Barra Stretched toward the sky, wings flapping, and called on the Guardians to accept their gifts and bless their breeding. The wind began to howl, and the mountain itself called out with them.
